We are celebrating the start of summer with a great kick-off promotion. June 11-14, 2012 (Mon to Thursday), everyone pays child rates. $35 pp, min of 2 persons per group. Thursday, June 7 from 3-6 PM
Refreshing Mountain Camp in Stevens, PA will be hosting a Community Day Event to benefit Ephrata Area Social Services. Bring canned food or cash donations for EASS to spend the afternoon enjoying various activities. WJTL will be broadcasting live from the camp during that time.One non-perishable food item or $1 equals one ticket. All cash proceeds benefit EASS. Activity options include:
Swimming Pool - 1 ticket/person
The pool has a wet playground, water slide, diving board and large deck area. Please note that we require modest swim attire (1-piece suit for girls/ladies, boxer style shorts for boys/men). An opaque t-shirt can be worn over a two piece suit and tankinis are permitted if no mid-riff is exposed.
Climbing Tower - 1 ticket/person
The Climbing tower has 4 levels of climbing difficulty and is approx. 30 ft high. Participants should be at least 48 inches tall.
Paintball Obstacle Course - 3 tickets/person
The Paintball Obstacle Course is a great opportunity to experience the fun of paintball without the danger/pain of being shot at. THIS IS NOT SKIRMISH. It is only shooting at targets, not at other participants. 3 tickets will purchase "1 round" through the target course with approx. 20-25 rounds of ammo. Participants under age 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
High Ropes Course and 2 zip lines - 2 tickets/person
Ride a zip line to our High Ropes Course. Choose your level of difficulty and challenge a number of physical elements approx. 30-40 feet in the air! End the course by "zipping" back to the ground. Minimum height of 48 inches. Min weight of 80 lbs. Max weight of 280 lbs. Participants under age 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
Ticket purchases/exchanges will be handled at the pavilion by the parking lot. Look for signs for "Registration" as you arrive which will direct you to the pavilion. As part of registration, each participant will be required to sign a release form which will contain the following language:

I have interest in participating in this event. This event includes the option but not the obligation to participate in any of the following: swimming, sports recreation, a climbing tower, Paintball Obstacle Course, High Ropes course with 2 zip lines, and other general recreation options. I understand that if I choose to participate in any of these activities, I assume the risk that is associated with them, which is inherent in adventure recreation. These risks can include slips, falls, equipment failure, physical and emotional injury, etc.(sample)

I acknowledge the need to follow instructions, to obey rules, to use common sense, and to participate in holding group members accountable to these practices. I assume and take on myself the risks and responsibilities associated with my participation. In consideration of being permitted to participate in this activity, I release, waive, forever discharge and covenant not to sue RMC, Ephrata Area Social Services, WJTL, and/or any of the employees, board members, volunteers, and other persons associated with any of the aforementioned entities, for any and all liability, claims, expenses and actions that may arise from injury or harm to me, or from damage to my property in connection with my participation.
I understand that there may not be medical personnel available at the site of the activity. I grant permission that supervising staff of this event may authorize emergency medical treatment, if necessary. Further, I agree that the aforementioned indemnified entities/individuals assume no responsibility for any injury or damage, which might arise out of or in connection with such authorized emergency medical treatment.

Putting together a successful retreat can be a lot of work. There are lots of details to manage and decisions to make. In the past, many events have tended to come together "last minute" which tends to mean less organization for the group and more late changes for RMC.So, to reward good planning, RMC will reward the Group Leader who meets all retreat deadlines by fully crediting his/her retreat costs on the Retreat Invoice.
To qualify, the following information must be submitted in a timely manner:
- Insurance Certificate for Sponsoring Organization (at least 2 weeks before retreat).
- Preliminary Schedule (at least 1 month before the retreat)
- Final Schedule (confirmed at least 2 weeks before the retreat)
- Final Numbers** for meals/lodging (at least 2 weeks before the retreat)
Basically, all significant arrangements for a retreat should be accomplished at least 2 weeks before arrival, and there should not be any major changes within 2 weeks of arrival. It will be our goal to help Group Leaders qualify for this offer; however, it will be the Group Leader's responsibility to take the initiative to meet the deadlines that are listed. * An eligible retreat will be a minimum of 2 nights and either a min of 30 persons in bunks or a min of 21 persons in lodges/private rooms.

Adding people "last minute" will not necessarily disqualify the Group Leader for this offer, provided that at least a "close projection" on final numbers has been supplied at least 2 weeks before the retreat.

Bring More People, Save More Money
RMC is continually trying to provide ways that you can save money on retreats that you host here. One of the ways that we do this is to reward you for bringing more people to the event. Basically, when you receive a price quote (generally only applies to events that are 2 nights or longer), at the bottom of the quote there will be discounts listed that will be applied to your final invoice IF your final group size meets the corresponding bracket.In general, you will qualify for a 4% discount if you bring the average number between your min and max on the contract. The 6% discount will apply at approx 90% of the contract maximum. RMC will even help you structure your contract/price quote to help you qualify for the discounts on your event. This can be done during the initial conversations about your event and the pricing/contract.
The reason for this is simple. The more people you bring, the better you will utilize the space that we have reserved for you, and it also helps us to keep the facilities full. This is our way to encourage you to bring more people to the event.
One important piece to these discounts is that to qualify, you will need to submit your final count at least 2 weeks prior to your retreat. While it is still ok to add people "last minute" to the event (i.e. within 2 weeks of arrival), these last minute additions may not qualify for the discounts, and they may not be considered as part of the qualifying criterion numbers.
